A relatively large-scale work by my standards, this drawing is a tightly woven, surreal and illogically allegorical fantasy forest realm. Elements of the fairytale, the medieval, the carnivalesque, the grotesque and macabre, folklore and the natural world, are patched together with art-historical quotations in an unplanned and self-generating unfurling of the subconscious.
